Cormorant, Australian Pied, juvenile (Phalacrocorax varius varius) - 12 Jan 07 - Doubtful Sound, NZ. This juvenile hasn't quite got its full adult plumage. This is the subspecies that breeds in New Zealand. Called a Pied Shag in NZ.
