Penguin, Yellow-eyed, adults and a young juvenile (inset) (Megadyptes antipodes) - 9 Jan 07 - Enderby Island, NZ in the Auckland Islands group. The only penguin that also breeds on mainland NZ near Dunedin. Rare there, they were common here. This was part of a group of up to 9 that "greeted" us at our landing sight. Shy and retiring on the mainland, they were quite curious of us here; one even followed Lisa and Lynn.
