Petrel, Southern Giant, juvenile (Macronectes giganteus) - 10 Jan 07 - off The Snares Islands, NZ. The only way to distinguish the two species is the color of the bill tip: greenish on the Southern, dark pinkish on the Northern. In the background of the right hand picture is a Royal Albatross and a Buller's Albatross. This was during the feeding session.
