Flowerpiercer, Glossy (Diglossa lafresnayii) - 8 Aug 09 - along the main trail at Yanacocha Ecological Reserve northwest of Quito, Ecuador. Flowerpiercers get their name because they pierce the base of flowers to get at the nectar.
